Opportunities Abound for Job Seekers at Nashua, N.H., Career Expo. - Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News

Sep. 3--NASHUA--If you're out of work or you just want to see what other jobs might be out there, dig out that resume, because tomorrow is your day.

From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday at the Sheraton Nashua Hotel on Tara Boulevard, off Spit Brook Road, workers will be able to meet with a variety of companies, see what they're about and apply for specific jobs. In some cases, companies will hire people on the spot.

Among the companies on hand will be Sovereign Bank, Edward Jones, United Parcel Service, Pioneer Computer School, the U.S. Army and about 20 other companies.

The Telegraph and Franklin Pierce College are hosting the free Career Expo, which will also offer a number of mini-seminars, including what the next big thing in information technology may be, writing compelling resumes and how to choose the right business to go into if you've decided you want to be self-employed.

The schedule for seminars is: noon, 'Writing Resumes with Results; 1:15 p.m., 'Next IT Wave u Are You Ready?' 2:30 p.m., 'Interviewing Tips'; and 3:45 p.m., 'Choosing the Right Business u A Seminar for Anyone Exploring Business Ownership.'

At the same time and place, there will also be a free Health Care Career Expo sponsored by The Telegraph and Rivier College.

A variety of health care providers such as hospitals and medical centers as well as nursing and medical staffing companies will be on hand to talk about what they do, take applications, conduct interviews and in some case, hire people right away.

Among the employers to be on hand are Premier Medical Staffing, Parkland Medical Center, St. Joseph Hospital and LNA Health Careers.

There will also be seminars throughout the day, such as personal organization for nurses at 12:30 p.m. Seating is limited for the seminars and is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
